More Legato on the Second Measure, Please

Well, with finals over, and most of the people gone on my floor, it's time for me to get working on several things. First off, finish "Villain", one of my compositions that I meant to finish weeks ago. Second, finish my game so I can play it till the cows come home.

Speaking of coming home, I'll be back Friday around 11ish. Party at my house, ne? See you all then. And until then...here's something to hold you over.

Time to Reload

I take back what I posted before. After witnessing a few grades of mine, I've decided I'm postponing my beta release and maybe the final release altogether. I've switching my mind back into "homework" mode, because I really need to this week. So, there's a slim chance (and I mean SLIM) that the beta will come out during Thanksgiving Break.

Speaking of which I should be back home Friday around 10ish. See you all then!

Shoot First, Ask Questions Later

So my little computer project is coming along nicely. Haire's been contributing quite a lot to the musical aspect of it, while my graphics artist...could do better. The first public beta will be available during Thanksgiving. Until then, I'll be coding away like crazy trying to rid out bugs and add in new features that may or may not be used in the final version.

Speaking of which, the finalized product is set to release world-wide on December 25. And a Merry Christmas to you all. I'll have a link to the download on that day and then for the rest of the day I'll be sitting back, ignoring your feedback because I'll be celebrating Christmas.

Can't wait to see you all in less than a week! Keep the craziness coming!

The Music Man?

So a few days ago I was searching around my hardrive for absolutely no reason when I stumbled upon my old music compositions. After a day or two I decided to start writing more songs and after a while I'm starting to enjoy it again. So here are some of my pieces that I'd like to share:

Brian's Fanfare for Trumpet (42 seconds)
This was my first piece of music ever written. Composed back in the summer 2002 when I was first introduced to music making software. In this piece I create one main theme and play around with it.

Elizabeth and Sarah Overture (42 seconds)
My second piece. Surprisingly it doesn't sound bad. I used clarinets for this one because....well, both my sisters played clarinets, so why not?


Good Ol' Nick (14 seconds)
Nick was a good friend of mine back during my freshmen year of high school. He played tuba, so I figured I may as well use a tuba for this as well. This piece kinda has a zing to it.


Little Mischief Makers (20 seconds)
Originally written to describe my loathesom for my little sister and her friends when they got annoying back in the day. What it turned into...I don't know, but I like it. Written in either 2002 or 2003.

Hyperactive (19 seconds)
Fomerly "Kate - Movement I" but changed due to the way offish sounds. It was originally supposed to be a light and playful piece but it turned into some kind of...theme. I still like it, though. Written a few days ago.


Mystery Girl (33 seconds)
Currently my favorite piece. Written yesterday. I based it off this girl that I don't even know but am strangely attracted to. So after walking back to my dorm after a two-shift working night, I saw her and I could almost hear this type of music playing, so I went into my room and composed it in about twenty minutes.

Butterfly (15 seconds)
Written last night in a quick twenty minute contest with Haire to see how our own compositions would sound in a scene where a girl is in the prarie chasing a butterfly. Given that he had a piano and I had to do mine all by hand, I think it's only fair that mine is so short while his was well over a minute long.

Kate (32 seconds)
Made just a few hours ago. I told my friend Kate I'd write a song for her that would hopefully turn into a two or three minute piece. I struggled for hours trying to think of a good theme and after I finally got one, I produced it. Not sure what to think of it. Could be good, could be...not as good as I wanted it to be. Judge for yourself.

A Night on the Town - not yet composed
This is the next one I want to have composed by tommorrow/today. My aim is one minute. I already have the theme written in my head and I know exactly what I want it to sound like.
This will be my first swing/jazz piece. Pray that it turns out well.

By the way, it is recommended that you download them and listen to them from your own computer because the internet has a way of butchering midis.

Now I'm off to sleep and am preparing for a...erm, well you'll see.

R.I.P Cammi

On the morning of October 3, 2006, Cammi was being driven out of the Y and onto fresh oil. She then slipped and hit a telephone pole and was totaled.

Cammi, for two years, you has served us well. You took on another car coming in from behind, a deer in the road, icy roads, various cars scratching you from the side, and a broken handle on the inside. You were nicknamed the "tank" and have held up that reputation for as long as we can remember.

It is a tragedy that Cammi has been taken from us and this world. We wish that she be remembered and if any of you have any last respects to pay to her, please do so in the comment section. Thank you and God Bless.
